# How a Google profile for a service area with several towns works

Setting up a Google Business Profile for a business without a storefront that serves several towns means choosing the service-area business type, the address is hidden from public view but still has to be entered at registration for verification.

The service area is defined with a list of specific towns or places, not a vague region, up to a certain number of locations, and each place added should genuinely be somewhere staff actually travel to, not just a wished-for market.

The business category in the profile decides which searches it can appear in at all, and it is worth picking as precisely as possible to match the actual service, not the broadest category available.

One profile does not rank equally in every town of its service area, the further the physical, even hidden, address sits from the search location, the weaker the position in the local map pack, so a long list of towns does not guarantee visibility in each one.

For a business without a physical storefront, reviews carry more weight than for a shop on the street, since nobody can just walk in and form an impression in person, reviews with names and dates become the only public trust signal.

Photos in the profile should be real pictures of finished work or the team, not stock images, since Google and people spot the difference equally fast.

Hours and contact method listed in the profile should match what actually works, if a call outside the stated hours goes unanswered, the profile promises more than the business can deliver.

A profile and a website do not replace each other, the profile decides whether a business shows up in local search with a city name attached, the website gives someone who has already found the profile the details on services and prices before calling.

A profile like this does not create presence in a town where the business genuinely does not operate, an honest service-area setup lists only places staff actually travel to, not a list of towns someone simply wants to be found in.

Illia BizTech sets up its own Google profile exactly this way, a service area across the whole Oberlausitz without a hidden address in every town, which is why the difference between a genuine setup and a list of towns for show is well understood.

Illia BizTech builds and maintains websites for companies in Germany in German, English, Russian and Ukrainian, from the first version through ongoing maintenance and search visibility work. One monthly plan covers the website, advertising and content, the scope is agreed in advance and can be moved between them when priorities change. The domain, hosting and ad accounts stay registered to the company, so the work can continue on the existing setup without a full rebuild. That fits businesses moving to Germany or expanding into the German-speaking market who want to explain their task once.
