# Google warns that our hours may differ on Epiphany but never on Corpus Christi. Why is that?

The holiday warning on a Business Profile follows a list Google publishes. The business's own calendar has no part in it.

We noticed something we cannot explain. On Epiphany our profile carried the note that opening hours might differ, although we were open exactly as usual. On Corpus Christi, also a public holiday here, the note never appeared at all.

Does Google steer this by federal state, or have we set something wrongly somewhere?

You have set nothing wrongly. The warning comes from a list Google publishes itself and keeps per country. Your own calendar plays no part in it. Its help page says that on the holidays listed there a warning may appear on the Business Profile telling people the hours might differ, and that anyone wanting to avoid it can set special hours for those days in advance.

The German section of that list explains your observation completely. Epiphany is there, annotated for Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria and Saxony-Anhalt, and All Saints' Day is there with Baden-Württemberg among its states. Corpus Christi does not appear in the German list at all, even though it is a statutory holiday here.

For Baden-Baden the second half of that is the awkward one. On two holidays Google warns your guests about hours that are in fact correct, and on a third, when whole streets are shut and day visitors arrive from Karlsruhe and Strasbourg, it says nothing.

The remedy runs the same way in both directions. Enter special hours for the specific date in advance, and the warning disappears on the days that are on the list while the truth appears on the days that are missing from it.
