# On Google our vet practice in Dresden shows its old careers page as a sitelink, when the booking page ought to be there

Google picks sitelinks under a search result fully automatically, with no direct selection or ordering by the business, per its own documentation.

Under our vet practice's Google search result in Dresden, one of the small sitelinks shows our old careers page, when we would much rather see the booking page there. Both pages exist, and technically nothing on our side should stop a swap.

Is there a setting that lets a business choose these sitelinks directly?

No such setting exists. Google's own Search Central documentation on sitelinks states plainly that 'at the moment, sitelinks are automated'.

A business cannot directly set or reorder which of its own subpages show up as sitelinks, and per the same page Google only reserves the option to incorporate site-owner input in the future. The result can only be influenced indirectly, through clear page titles and headings, a logical site structure and meaningful internal link text.

A careers page with strong internal links from other pages can end up ahead of a booking page this way, regardless of which page actually matters more for the business. Deliberately built internal linking that emphasizes the booking page raises the odds of a switch, without guaranteeing it. [Illia BizTech](https://illia-biztech.de/en/services/website-leads) sets up that internal linking accordingly for Dresden practices.

A vet practice in Dresden sees its old careers page shown as a sitelink on Google, when the booking page is the one it would prefer there. Per Google, no direct way exists to choose that link.

Google decides sitelinks automatically, influenced only by page titles, structure and internal linking. A more strongly linked page can appear more often, with no guarantee attached.
