A trades business in Borna wants to quickly adjust its opening hours before a holiday, but the familiar Google Business Profile app on the company phone is no longer there.

We've always managed our Google Business Profile in Borna through its own app on the company phone, opening hours, a new photo, whatever came up between jobs.

Before a holiday we wanted to quickly adjust the hours, and the app was suddenly gone, it won't reinstall from either the Play Store or the App Store.

Did we do something wrong, or is the profile now completely out of our control?

The profile isn't out of your control, only the way you reach it has changed. Google discontinued the standalone Business Profile app, and management now runs directly through regular Google Search and through Google Maps once you're signed in with the linked account. In practice that means searching your own company name on Google while logged in with that account, the same editing tools that used to live in the app show up right above the search results, opening hours, photos, posts, everything in the same place as before, just without a separate app in between.

For a business in Borna with only one or two people looking after the profile, it's worth walking through this new path once, calmly. That avoids hunting for it under time pressure right before a holiday. [Illia BizTech](https://illia-biztech.de/en) shows businesses in the region exactly where each function has moved to.
