# The AI answer confuses us with three other property managers around Dresden, one of which no longer exists

A property management company with a generic name in Dresden finds complaints from three other firms in its AI answer, including one that's already closed.

Our property management company is basically called 'Select Property Management Dresden,' a name made up of fairly ordinary words.

A tenant confronted us with a complaint we'd never heard of. On closer inspection, it turned out the AI answer for our name clearly blends us with at least three similarly named firms in the region, one of which, according to our own research, closed down a year ago.

How can a company that's already closed still show up in an answer about us at all?

A name built from ordinary, descriptive words is the actual trigger here. A documented case in the US shows exactly the same pattern, a property management company with a name built from words like 'select' and 'property management' had its AI answer blend in three other firms with similar words in their names, one of them permanently closed.

A closed firm still showing up happens because the AI assembles its answer from a large pool of older websites and listings without checking whether the company behind any of them still exists. To the system, the names are simply too similar to separate cleanly.

There's little to do about the root cause directly, a name can't be made more distinct retroactively. What's left is reporting each specific mix-up through the feedback option, naming exactly which of the other firms is meant, since a vague report without that detail gets handled far less often.
