# A colleague says boosting anything from the Instagram app is impossible without a linked Facebook Page, is that true for our tattoo studio

Instagram's own help page confirms that linking a Facebook Page can be skipped when boosting from the app, and is not asked again afterward.

For our tattoo studio in Dresden we use Instagram purely through the app, and we never set up a Facebook Page. The first time we tried boosting a post directly from the app, a prompt asked us to link a Facebook Page.

A colleague said this is simply impossible without a linked page. Do we now have to set up a Facebook Page no matter what?

No, that can be worked around. Instagram's own help page describes exactly this case. Anyone who did not link a Facebook Page when first setting up a professional account is indeed prompted, but can tap Skip. Skipping that step means the prompt does not come back when boosting future posts.

Either way, boosting directly from the app only ever offers three goals, more profile visits, more website visits, or more messages, regardless of whether a Facebook Page is linked. That limit comes from the boosted-post feature itself. The missing page has nothing to do with it.
