# Google Ads is asking us to verify the business by a deadline, what happens if we let it pass?

What happens when the advertiser verification deadline in a Google Ads account goes by.

Our electrical business has had a request in the account for a few days now, asking us to complete advertiser verification, with a date next to it. They want company details and an identity document.

We are swamped at the moment. How bad is it if we let that date go by?

The answer sits in Google's own policies, and it is unambiguous. If advertiser verification is incomplete by the deadline shown, the account is paused. Ads stop running and stay stopped until the review has gone through.

The deadline sits in the account and it is the binding one. Once you submit, the review takes up to five business days, and in rare cases up to 30 calendar days. Submitting on the final day therefore risks a gap in delivery even though everything was formally handed in.

Google may ask for organisation details, put questions about how the business operates, and check an identity document. Google brings accounts into the process gradually and goes by things like account behaviour, ad content and industry, which is why a neighbouring business may not have seen the request yet. Eventually it is meant to apply to every advertiser.
