Google sends customers to a street that has not existed for years # Google sends customers to a street that has not existed for years The address in the profile is right, checked three times. Maps still routes patients onto a path that is now a meadow and leaves them behind the building. * ##### Asked by CalmHarbor281 * ##### Asked on October 12, 2026 Our physiotherapy practice has been in the Neustadt district of Hoyerswerda since we moved in 2023, in a building whose access road changed when the block next door was demolished. Google Maps regularly routes patients along a path that is now a meadow and leaves them standing behind the building. Two elderly patients turned around and went home last month because they could not find the entrance. The address in the profile is entered correctly; I have checked it three times. #### Answers ![Portrait of Illia Belichenko, technical specialist at Illia BizTech](/_ipx/f_webp,q_75/https://cms.illia-biztech.de/uploads/small_Illia_Belichenko_author_81f88864f0.png) ##### Illia Belichenko · Founder & Technical Lead ✓ Accepted answer October 13, 2026 The address is not your problem. Two other things are, and you can act on both of them yourself. The first is your location marker. Google places it automatically from the address, and where access roads have changed it easily ends up on the wrong side of a building. You are allowed to move that marker by hand for your own listing, to exactly where the entrance is. Do it on a computer with the map at a large scale rather than on a phone. The second is the street itself. A path that is now a meadow belongs to the map data rather than to your listing. Errors like that are reported through the function for reporting data and content problems, [described on Google's own help page](https://support.google.com/maps/answer/3094088?hl=de). Do not expect it in days, though: map data gets reviewed, and the old route may still be visible as a track on aerial imagery. While that runs, work around the problem, and that helps your patients immediately. Write the directions out in words in your profile and on your website: which street to come from, what you pass, where to park, what the entrance looks like. Add two photographs, one of the entrance and one of the access road from a driver's point of view. With elderly patients that works more reliably than any correction to the map. And do not leave the job to your answering machine: one line in the appointment confirmation saying exactly where the entrance is costs nothing and saves somebody the journey home. ##### #### [Instagram Stories for our yoga studio in Dresden disappear after a day, is there a more reliable channel for last-minute announcements](/en/forum/unsere-instagram-storys-fur-das-yogastudio-in-dresden-verschwinden-nach-einem-tag-gibt-es-einen-verlasslicheren-weg-fur-kurzfristige-ankundigungen) October 16, 2026 [](/en/forum/unsere-instagram-storys-fur-das-yogastudio-in-dresden-verschwinden-nach-einem-tag-gibt-es-einen-verlasslicheren-weg-fur-kurzfristige-ankundigungen) #### [Could we get in trouble with Google if our pages for Hainichen and Frankenberg look too similar?](/en/forum/bekommen-wir-arger-mit-google-wenn-unsere-seiten-fur-hainichen-und-frankenberg-sich-stark-ahneln) October 16, 2026 [](/en/forum/bekommen-wir-arger-mit-google-wenn-unsere-seiten-fur-hainichen-und-frankenberg-sich-stark-ahneln) #### [Google sends people looking for us to Freiburg.
