# For months we have boosted Instagram posts for our flower shop in Dresden's Neustadt, calls have not gone up

Boosted posts bring the flower shop plenty of likes but hardly any enquiries, because boosting only covers a few advertising goals.

For our flower shop in Dresden's Neustadt we have boosted almost every second Instagram post for around half a year. Likes and comments have clearly gone up, calls about bouquets or wedding florals have barely moved.

A friend said boosting is technically something quite different from a real ad campaign. Is that actually true, or is it just two names for the same button on Meta's side?

There is a genuine technical difference here. Meta's help center documents that a post boosted straight from the Instagram app supports only three goals. More profile visits, more website visits and more messages are the only options.

The full Ads Manager opens up goals like leads, app promotion and sales, plus audiences built on existing customers and far more control over the creative itself. None of boosting's three goals is really built for calls or bouquet enquiries, 'messages' comes closest.
