An electrical firm in Radeberg, invisible in Dresden even though half the work comes from there. In Radeberg we come first on Google; for Dresden we appear nowhere at all, even though a good half of our work comes from there. An acquaintance suggested we rent a desk in an office building in Dresden and enter that as a second address, saying everyone does it. We have already entered Dresden as our service area in the profile and it has achieved nothing. PO boxes and letterboxes at premises belonging to someone else are excluded in the same way. The desk would not change that, because the rule sets a second condition as well: anyone who displays an address publicly and also states a service area has to have staff on site during the opening hours they publish. A seat nobody uses does not meet that. What your acquaintance means by "everyone does it" works right up to the day it is noticed. The profile is then suspended, and by that point you have been paying rent for months. For your situation Google provides the opposite route: [businesses without a customer-facing location create a profile for their own premises, hide the address and maintain a service area](https://support.google.com/business/answer/9157481?hl=de). Your Radeberg address then stays internal while Dresden is recorded as territory you cover. Let me be straight about the outcome, though. That alone will not make you visible in Dresden. The map measures distance to the searcher, and Radeberg stays Radeberg. Hiding the address does not lose you the map listing for Radeberg, but it does cost you some trust with people who want to see where you are based. You make that back on the website: full address, photographs of the premises, directions.
