# Our own booking widget for the salon in Grimma isn't offered under 'Book with Google', why not?

A wellness and hair salon in Grimma built its own booking widget for its website and wonders why the 'Book with Google' feature still isn't available for it.

For our salon in Grimma we put real effort into having our own booking widget built for the website, technically it works flawlessly, customers can pick an appointment directly online.

We'd hoped that would automatically unlock the 'Book with Google' feature right on the profile, but the option simply doesn't show up for us in the settings.

Why isn't a working booking system of our own enough for that?

A working system of your own genuinely isn't enough on its own. 'Book with Google' requires either your own booking system to meet Google's technical requirements and be formally registered and approved as a partner, or a connection to one of Google's already-certified booking partners.

A self-built widget that works beautifully on your own website doesn't automatically meet that requirement, no matter how well it's technically built. Without that formal connection, the option simply stays hidden in the profile.

In practice, switching to one of the already-connected booking systems is usually the faster path. Certifying your own widget for a partnership with Google after the fact tends to take considerably longer. For salons in Grimma who genuinely want this integration, [Illia BizTech](https://illia-biztech.de/en) works out which already-certified system fits the existing appointment calendar best.
