# Our ads are approved and still barely run

Every ad shows as approved, yet impressions never arrive in the new account.

We are a young dental lab in Sandkamp and the account is just over four weeks old. Every ad is approved, the budget is set, nothing was disapproved.

Impressions still barely add up. When we search for our own terms we almost never see ourselves. What is going on?

Approved and serving are two different states at Google. Under the limited ad serving policy, Google limits impressions of ads that are more likely to result in negative ads experiences. A qualified advertiser is not limited by it.

The scope is the part that matters, because it changed. With the August 2026 update the policy covers all Google Ads. Particular industries were the earlier scope. Implementation is gradual and is to be completed by 2028\. A four-week-old account is exactly the case the policy describes.

This is not a penalty and not something a switch turns off. What matters is that the policy attaches to the advertiser and not to the individual ad, so rewriting ad copy changes nothing about it.

An uncomfortable order of work follows. Raising the budget achieves little at this stage. My advice is to finish advertiser verification and let the account run quietly, without changing settings every day.
