# Our Page was deactivated because nobody held full control any more

One resignation removed the last person with full control, and the deletion notice followed.

Our Facebook Page has run since 2019\. The colleague who created it left in the spring of 2026 and his account was closed.

In the summer a notice arrived saying the Page was deactivated and queued for deletion. We have editors and advertisers on the team, and apparently that is not enough.

It genuinely is not enough, and that is how it is documented. A Page held in a business portfolio that nobody has full control of is deactivated and queued for deletion. Editor and advertiser are working roles and carry no control.

The distinction your case rests on runs between two levels. Full control of a single asset and full control of the portfolio holding it are different rights. Your former colleague probably had both, and both left with his account.

Work in this order. Check first whether anyone still holds full control of the portfolio, and the moment you are inside, give that right to a second person. Then assign full control of the Page itself to at least two people.

Keeping a company Page on Facebook requires at least one person with full control. Without one the Page is deactivated and queued for deletion, however many editors the team holds.

The second level is the one usually missed. Full control of an asset and full control of the portfolio above it are separate rights, and both disappear with a closed account. Two people holding both is the smallest arrangement that survives a resignation.
