# We're moving within Leipzig to a bigger shop, and Google now shows 'Permanently Closed'

A shop that moved within Leipzig from Plagwitz to a bigger space sees a red 'Permanently Closed' label at its old address instead of any mention of the move.

We recently moved within Leipzig, from a smaller spot in Plagwitz to a noticeably bigger shop a few streets away. The business runs exactly as before, we just have more room now.

On Google, though, our old address now shows a bold red 'Permanently Closed' label, with no mention of the new address at all. Several regulars have already asked whether we shut down.

How do you get rid of that wrong information without losing the reviews we've already built up?

The red label comes from a change Google made to its own display, regardless of how the move itself was handled technically. Google used to show a 'Closed or relocated to' note for a business that moved, that distinction no longer exists, a relocated but still active business gets the exact same red label as one that genuinely shut down.

What actually decides the reviews question is something else. Editing the existing address directly on the current profile and then reverifying it keeps the reviews, age and trust intact. Creating a brand-new profile for the new address instead loses all of that, and the new profile has to rebuild its standing from scratch over weeks or months. Against the misleading red label itself, the most reliable move is actively announcing the relocation through your own channels, a current post on the profile plus a short note to regulars, since the display itself can't be reliably controlled during the transition.
